About

Crafted from the Life Cycle of the Forest
The Meaning Behind Our Name
In botany, xylem is the vital vascular tissue within trees that carries water and nutrients from the roots upward. It is the very essence of living wood. At Xylem Wrx, I honor that lifeforce by breathing new life into local timber through thoughtful, handcrafted woodcraft.
From Fallen Timber to Timeless Tributes
Xylem Wrx was born out of an unexpected transition. A few years after moving into my home, nested under the lush canopy of mature Ash, Black Walnut, Cherry, and Hard Maple trees, the ancient trees began to fall, one by one. As the shade gave way to open sunlight, I chose to pivot rather than mourn the lost canopy. I installed solar panels and began milling the timber right where it fell.
A Heritage of Craftsmanship
Raised in a family of makers, woodworkers, and craftspeople, working with timber has always been in my blood. What began as creating deeply personal heirloom urns and keepsake boxes for loved ones grew into turning local, fallen trees into a wider range of personal gifts, cutting and serving boards, custom racks, and accent pieces.
Every piece from Xylem Wrx is guided by three core standards: Quality, Beauty, and Uniqueness. I take immense pride in every detail of this work, and I hope these handcrafted pieces bring warmth to your home and joy to the loved ones you pass them on to.
